Have you ever wondered how you would know if your real estate contract was enforceable?

Below are some ways for you to determine:

In SC, in order for a real estate contract to be enforceable, it must be in writing.  Oral contracts are no good.

Also, all changes on an offer has to be initialed and dated in order to be sure your contract is enforceable.

It is amazing how many "contracts" don't have the proper initials and/or dates.  People tend to think this is not important, but it is critical.

A contract is not considered "ratified" until it has been delivered to all parties.

Harry Hallman, the former mayor of Mt. Pleasant,  passed away Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011. 

Mr. Hallman was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2008 and resigned as mayor because of it.

My husband, Boyd, and I have know Harry and his wife, Brooke, for many years -- As a matter of fact, Brooke and I used to play tennis together.

Not only was Harry Hallman a great leader and motivator, he was simply a great man -- a true southern gentleman -- a person who considered everyone to be important, whether he agreed with him/her or not.
